Dwelling foundations unearthed at Tell es-Sultan in Jericho

Tel es-Sultan is an UNSECO-listed archeological site and the ancient city of Jericho, also known as the oldest and lowest city in the world, at the depth of 258m below sea level.

The excavations are 10 000 years old and the remains of a round tower proofs that Jericho was the first town in the world. According to heritage, the tower survived seven earth quakes. However until now only a small part of the Old city of Jericho has been excavated.
