Climate: Irano- Turanian.

IBA Criteria met: A4iv, B1iv, B2, B3 (1999) + Wetland area.

Area: 2,500 ha.

Site description:

 IBA, wetland. it is a protected region and considered a wetland area, which contains a lot of fresh and salt springs, its decline from the sea level is between 380-400m below sea level. It is located south to Jericho city, the oldest city in the world. The Dead Sea located in the south part of this region and which is considered as the lowest area in the world. The oasis of Al-Fashkha extended in a distance of 1400 m in order to reach the Dead Sea in several sites.This area is very rich in biodiversity of fauna and flora, that exist in the wetland and also contains springs which make it an ecotourism area with great potential.

Special birds: 

Peregrine falcon, Sand partridge, eurasian griffon vulture, egyptian vulture, Tristrams starling, european honey buzzard, Dead sea sparrow, Arabian babbler ,Great Grey shrike, Mourning wheatear, Blackstart, Desert lark, Fan-tailed raven, Little green bee-eater ,Reed warbler, Bluethroat, European robin
