Overhunting and Overfishing

It means the hunting of birds, terrestrial and marine animals and fish specified in the executive regulations of Law No. 7 of 1999 regarding the environment, without taking account the environmental dimension which contributes to disturbing the environmental balance and biodiversity.

According to Article 41 of Law No. 7 of 1999 on the Environment (It is forbidden to hunt, kill or capture birds, wild and marine animals, and fish specified in the executive regulations of this law, and it is forbidden to possess, transport, roam, sell or display these birds and animals for sale, live or dead, and it is forbidden to destroy its dens or the culling of its eggs.)

Among the illegal hunting and trade operations in Palestine:

  •  The partridge , destroying its dens and destroying its eggs.
  •  Trade in the finch (Spiny, Green and Gold finches).
  • Palestinian mountain gazelle
  • Porcupine
  • Honey badger
