Geographical dimension of climate change

Mediterranean weather influences conditions in Palestine. Climate models project that coastal areas of the Mediterranean are likely to get hotter and drier in the future. The Nile River delta in Egypt is a global climate hotspot where sea level rise and warming temperatures threaten agricultural lands and a large number of people. Geographic and socioeconomic isolation also threaten the people, environment and agriculture of Palestine. The effective mitigation of and adaptation to climate change depend on more efficient energy and water use, improved spatial planning and reduced territorial and ecological fragmentation.
